Alsof niemand naar me kijkt
Alsof niemand naar me kijkt (As if no one is watching me) is a collaborative publication by Pien Tilstra and Lisanna van Rooijen. Dance is a way to express yourself without needing words. You move to music, you feel the rhythm flowing through your body. It relaxes you, while you tense your whole body. Dance is not only a sport but also an art. It connects us. With each other, with ourselves, with the music, or with our surroundings. Sometimes dancing can also be frustrating, when you don't know what to do, when you don't feel connected to the music, when others don't respond with the same energy. Then the safest space is your room, where you dare to dance and no one will watch you. We want to feel that safety everywhere. Dance as if no one is watching you, then you can really let go.
This publication combines our photography, our experiences, in the form of poems alongside research on dance and connection. Its pages are cut in half creating endless combinations of image and text while also giving structure through research articles which create a new rhythm in the reading experience.
